Quote:Mega Man Shattered Diamond is a fan game for the classic Mega Man series being developed by Team Circadia for Windows 7 and newer. Featuring both Mega Man and Bass as playable characters and a new unique 8-bit art style inspired by Mega Man: The Wily Wars, the game hopes to deliver a fresh but familiar experience for Mega Man fans.

The game is planned to feature:
  • Two playable characters: Mega Man and Bass;
  • A new, unique 8-bit art style inspired by Mega Man: The Wily Wars;
  • 8 new Robot Master stages, an intro stage, and unique fortress stages;
  • 8 special weapons for your arsenal, plus returning Rush and Treble utilities;
  • A new, original story with pre-boss dialogue and full pixel art cutscenes.

You can follow the game on our Tumblr dev blog, or on our YouTube channel. Frequent updates are posted to our dev blog, so follow us there to follow the project more closely.

Why is Mega Man's health bar horizontal all of a sudden?

It helps level design not have to keep so much of the screen clear. However if you are not a fan, don't worry. you can toggle it to the more traditional orientation in options at any time. Its just this way by default
Neat. And during boss fights, I presume the boss's health bar will be on the right side of the screen a la Street Fighter?

Yes, the boss healthbar is on the right side of the screen and will match the orientation of the player healthbar that you have chosen.
I love the unique art style! Can't wait to get my hands on this Smile

How large is your team?

How large is your team?

Our team is currently made up of 16 people.
I gotta say, I'm impressed by how this project is potentially becoming one of the fastest in progress this year (after Mega Maker and MaGMML2) after being in the conceptual phase for a year or so. Is there any particular reason for this Visnium-esque energy boost?

The project has undergone a number of personnel changes, which has resulted in most of the team being replaced. The influx of new members is likely the biggest reason for the large boost activity. Things have slowed down a bit since some of our team members are dealing with school and work but we have no intentions of stopping. Wink

In this dev vlog, we have previews of the intro stage as well as Quarry Man's stage. We're still not quite ready to show off our first boss (in full) yet but we're working hard on that. Enjoy this preview for now!

Welcome to the second "mini-update" video for Mega Man Shattered Diamond. As promised, we have a new milestone in the game's development - the first implemented boss, which also happens to be the first boss you'll face in the game as well, the Gomi Telly X.

Being the intro stage boss, this boss is somewhat less intense than the bosses you'll face later in the game, and is meant to help you, the player, get your bearings. The attacks are simple but may still catch you off guard if you aren't careful.

As usual, leave any feedback or questions in this thread, in our inbox on Tumblr or on our Discord server. Thank you for following the project, and look forward to future updates!
