Sprite Adoption

Upon reading some posts I'm changing the rules so that you must still give credit please reread this post before posting or "adopting".

None of these sprites are PD! Only the original poster and the adopter can use them freely, To use a sheet you must get permission from both people, and If one of them has left Inc you only need the permission of the one who is still here.

New Rule as of 9/12/09 (GMT -4) (19:32): If you intended to to give a sprite to a specific person, rather than actually putting it up for anyone to grab, it should be PM'd to them.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one out there who has started a sprite sheet and didn't like the way it was coming out, or made a one sprite but didn't want to sheet it. In this thread you can post an unfinished sheet or a one pose sprite, and put it up for "adoption".

The way this works is you post the sprite, or unfinished sheet. Then the first person to post that they want the sprite gets "combined ownership" of it. Once you post it and some one claims it, It belongs to both of you.

Only post your adoption once per page if no one has adopted it yet. So far we haven't had any problems with that but better safe than sorry.

Edit: Thanks to Rags for pointing this out but please no fan characters unless it's a boss, or an in stage enemy. Another exception is crossover characters, There allowed in the PD section because there useful, so If you want to put up a cross over character go ahead.

To start off I'm putting up my X4-6 style Chill Penguin sheet for "adoption"

DO NOT PUT FAN CHARACTERS IN HERE, THERE IS A REQUEST THREAD FOR THAT,OK,POST SHEETS THAT WILL ACTUALLY HELP PEOPLE!

But how is it that a person puts their sprites, and then loses ownership of them? That's kind of stupid...

I tihnk it's a good idea. Only thing is, i think you should have the right to block the ownership of the new owner of your sprites. Just in case some random n00bcake shows up here, spams the whole thread in order to get all sprites postd here, and then claims that he made them and such.
So, 'Ownership Block' should be implemented, and I think that's it.

This is basically a one-time-PD sprite for the first person who sees it, right?

I think it's a pretty good idea. Everyone's got half-finished sprites/sheets laying around, that they know they'll never finish. I like the idea of giving them to someone else, as long as they go to a good home

, so Boilman's idea makes a heck-lot of sense. If someone just spams all the sprites to himself, the whole idea of the thread kinda falls apart.

If this thread gets more pages, would it be an idea to make a roster of 'homeless' sprites in the first post? Just so people can easily look everything up.

Then again, that might be thinking too far in the future.

No, it'll be like this.

Say I finished the Chill penguin sheet,

It would say :Credit belongs to Demon_Zero and Rags.

Got it. Some one, or people, finish the sheet, kinda like the request thread, except, the person doesn't need em' done.

Which brings us to rule number two.

Rule 2
Still credit the person who adopted the sprite. But ypu get some credit as well.

Rule 3.
ANY SPRITE THAT IS POSTED HERE IS NOT PD UNLESS STATED. If you extend it, you can use it. But, ask other wise.

Well, we are already 8 posts far now...
So it might be not that much of a 'what-if' scenario at all.

In order to make sure a couple of posts are getting used for something, I'll put one of my sprites up. A sprite that could do with a more complete sheet, but would never be good enough to be just PD.

I put my Model WebSpider up for adoption. Being a robotic being, this little thing comes with a manual.

Row1: Standing poses.
Row2: Punch poses. Can also be used as a shot, but lacks lighting.
Row3: Web Shot/Drain Angel. Shoots either the webs*, or the angel**.
Row4: If the enemy is hit by the web, then this sticky goo will be placed over them.

* The web shoots either straight forward, orin the direction of an enemy. Slow moving. Can stun the opponent.

** The angel is discriminating for friend and foe. If it hits a foe, the orbs it's attached to will turn red. Green for Friend.
If an enemy is hit, it's HP will be drained and be reserved in an extra tank carried inside the model.
If it hits a friend, the friend will recieve the health that the model carries with it. As much as needed will be transported into the friend.

I thought this to be a neat idea, and had many more ideas for it, but ZX isn't my thing.

This was a brilliant idea, I've been looking for a thread like this! XD Anyways, I know these are probably the very first sprites I've ever made (minus modifications), but I don't think I'll ever find the time to sheet them. They are very important to me, and I hope someone will find a good home for them.

I've got a one posed sprite of Omicron's maverick form.

It's a scratch (Except the head) so it might take a while. I'm not good with giant sprites... Design Idea came from dracula, so think of any moves you wanna give him...

He's now up for adoption.

I guess I'll put Buster Blader up for adoption, though I'm not sure who wants him. His extended height and differently shaped torso might make it hard to sheet.
