The Great Destruction. A war so devastating, that many members of humanity were forced underground in order to survive. After twenty years, humanity was able to reclaim the surface and begin to rebuild. In the reconstruction, national borders were broken down, unifying the various nations on Earth into the Unified Earth Sphere.

The year is AGD (After the Great Destruction) 192. Humanity has rebuilt the losses suffered in the Great Destruction, and have even begun to colonize space and the moon. With this new push towards the stars comes new technology. Humanoid mobile weapons, or 'Mechs', once a science-fiction staple, have become reality, and now have replaced conventional weapons in the armies as of AGD 166. These units were built and maintained to keep the peace that broke out following the Great Desctruction. But, as in most of human history, conflict has broken out again. The colonies have decided to declare themselves their own nation, and began to cut their ties with the UES, and become the Colonial Alliance. After the initial declaration, several members of the UES government traveled to the CA in order to negotiate. The CA were unwilling to negotiate, and imprisoned the officials, and destroyed their ships and protective details. Following this, the CA formally delared their independence from, and war against, the UES.

The spark has been ignited. Soon the flames of war will envelop all of humanity once again.

Player Scenario:

You are an Ensign in the UES military, assigned to the Hiryu of the UESNC (Unified Earth Sphere Naval Corp) 82nd 'Helljumpers' Airborne division, just as the war begins to break out. You can have some experience in the military, or you can be a raw recruit. You may even decide to follow your beliefs and defect from the UES to follow your own path. The choice is yours, and yours alone.

All forum rules apply.
You can have only one character. If you roleplay consistently and well, you may be rewarded with additional characters. (NOTE: I may also be monitoring your progress in other RPs. This will help me establish a baseline for your skills, and can help you with obtaining additional chars.)
Don't control other players or important NPC's. However, you can control NPCs like mechanics and the like.
Each post in the RP thread must be at least five sentences. These must be full sentences.
Your character doesn't know everything you read.
ALL OOC discussions are to be limited to the Sign-Up thread.
Disable signatures in the RP thread. This is to cut down on the loading times for the RP topics, as well as limiting all 'OOC' discussion to the Sign-Up thread (Such things can kill dial-up connections. I know this first hand.). This also presents a more professional appearance.
If you're going to be inactive for a substantial period of time (Any length of time longer than two weeks), please contact me.
Common sense applies.
Rules may update.
Breaking the rules can result in penalties taken against the offending RPer. (Like in alter Reign, there will be a three-strikes policy. Three strikes, and your char's life is in serious jeopardy.)
If you are banned from SI, your character's life is forefeit. (Fairly obvious, but it bears mentioning.)
Minor Character control is allowable, as long as it's only somethig like moving another person's char from one place to another (such as if said char is wounded, etc.) Nothing major. Just make sure you arrange it with the character's controller first. Anything like automatic hits are not allowed unless the other player approves and I am notified.
If you feel that a punishment was unwarranted, PM me, or contact me on MSN/Windows Live Messenger, and I will review the decision. Nothing that happens here as a result of a punishment is permanent. (Alter Reign's a very good example of this.)
I am also limiting the mech selection to only Banpresto Originals and units from the Gundam Multiverse. This is to cut down on the number of 'Godmodding' Mechs. There are also restrictions on the units available in these areas as well:

It would be a good idea to have at least three or four mechs in mind when you create your character in case your primary choice is already taken.

Images:
If you cannot find a sprite for your chosen mech, an image from either the MAHQ or the Gate of Magus websites is acceptable.

Weapons:
Each Mech can be armed with the same weapons found on their profiles on either site listed above. If you choose to enter a custom mech, you can equip it with any weapons WITHIN REASON. This does not mean start equipping them with every weapon. This Mech's capabilities must also be within reason. No attacks/weapons that can obliterate an entire army in one shot, or some such. In general, there should be one primary weapon (rifles, etc), one close-combat weapon (sabers, knives, shotguns, etc.), and two slots for secondary weapons like missiles.

Custom Mechs:
Instead of entering with a mech from either of the above sources, you can choose to enter with a custom mech of your own design. There are some limitations reguarding their weaponry, as stated above. All you need to enter a custom mech is an image/sprite of the mech, and a listing of its weaponry and capabilites.

Generic Units:
In addition to your unique unit, you can choose to pilot a generic unit, such as the Gespenst, or a similar type of mech.

Do I have to play any of the SRW games or be a Gundam fanatic to join?
Nope. Although the greater an understanding you have of these areas, the easier it is to perform in this Role-Play.

Someone else has already picked the mech I wanted to use! What can I do?
Unfortunately, if the character with the desired mech has already been approved, there is little you can do but select another unit and hope that it has not been taken.

Will there be Einst/Aerogators?

What if I want to RP as a member of the CA from the start?
You can, but if you choose to do so at the opening of the RP, you will have to wait until the CA members have been formally introduced before you can start posting. This is to prevent a break in the flow of the RP, and allow for a more structured introduction.

Can I submit a custom mech instead of an already created one?
See above, Rules Regarding Mechs => Custom Mechs.

Will this RP be as scripted as Alter Reign?

To be fair, I just went and listed every actual weapon Destiny has...The CIWS are just normal Gundam head vulcans.

I think the big laser cannon, palm laser cannons, and big sword could be left off at the start.

By the way, does a shield have to be listed as a weapon?

Eh, yeah, given that it's part of the mech's loadout, but if the art shows a shield, then it's a given.

Just what do you mean by custom really?
Do you mean like just a non-standard equipment, or would I be allowed to say... fuse a Cybuster and an Astelion into some sort wierd mass production Cybuster that turns jet instead of bird?

Second question: Can I just use my GGG character with a modified backstory?

Third: Weaponry wise, are we allowed to make up reasonable weaponry? Like can I have a floaty buster eque blade/hoverboard and a weaponized more robust repair kit?

1. Custom - As in a entirely new mech/upgrade for an existing mech. Like your Cybuster/Astelion combo would be considered custom.

2. As long as you don't refer to GGG I honestly don't mind/care, but Mik may have other ideas.

3. Reasonable weaponry will be allowed.
