MaGMML2 Pit of 100 Trials Postgame
Hey everyone, Notencore, NaOH, and myself plan on running a section of the MaGMML2 postgame that is an endless style section like in 9/10/endless, but with a definitive end. So what we would like from you is to send in submissions for this. Your level should be accepted unless its trolly or too hard.

Rules/Guidelines:

1. Your submission must be between 1 and 6 screens long, no exceptions.
2. Your level must start and end with a teleporter.
3. You can use any vanilla gimmick/tiles/any other assets from the engine.(nothing you made yourself)
Edit: You can use tilesets but no other custom assets
4. It has to be beatable without being hit.
5. If there is forced weapon usage give energy so that it is not impossible to do in any situation.
6. You cannot place down an energy element in your section.
7. You can submit multiple sections.
8. All levels may be tweaked by either Notencore, NaOH or I at our discretion (although I hope we dont have to).
9. Go light on instant death sections as they are no fun in endless. (Spikes will no longer kill you, but they will do damage, and pits will send you back to the beginning of the section. All quick lasers must be damage variation)
10. Keep entries private to pm or #levelshowcase on the discord
11. Your name will be in text in the corner of your room, so no need to put a sign saying who made it.
12. Custom spawners are no longer allowed, except for doing trivial things simple things. Please run your idea by @SnoruntPyro if you want to use custom spawners in your level.

All existing levels with custom spawners in them are not affected.

Deadline is March 19th

Submitting:
-Has to be a .gmres of just the room, and nothing else
-The room should be called "lvlPitParmaJon_1" for example
-In the creation code please put

global.currentLevelAuthor = "ParmaJon"
global.currentLevelName = "Cossack Climb"

Since submissions can only use vanilla assets, I presume we would only need to export one .gmres files for Rooms?

When would be the deadline?

Since I just have finished the level for the contest not long ago, kinda want to take a breather for a week or so before doing this one, even if it's only a few screens.

Awesome. This makes me extremely happy. Also, hit me up if you need a playtester. More questions:

- What's the submission deadline?
- Are all submissions guaranteed to make it into the game, or is there some form of quality control (aside from you editing the stages) or a limit to how many stages in total will be accepted (ie, literally 100 trials)?
- Is there a specific naming convention we should use for our levels?
- Should we provide music, or will this game mode have music of its own?
- Are E-Tanks and M-Tanks allowed?
- Are bosses allowed (assuming they don't drop Energy Elements)?
- Can a single section contain multiple rooms linked by teleporters, or will that mess things up?
- Can we use the weapon customization object to prohibit weapons or give weapons infinite ammo, or will that mess things up for the next level you visit?
- Even though brand-new custom assets are off-limits, can we use custom assets that were already submitted with our levels for the main contest?
- Do we need to keep our section ideas secret from anyone, or can we freely discuss them in public?
- Do you have to be a contest participant to submit a section, or is this open to anyone?

Deadline March 12th
-Not everything is guaranteed, there will just be a simple quality control so we don't have any flat out bad or unfair -entries. We also wont be giving full reviews.
-Still haven't figured out the limit of levels
-Dont worry about naming it, just have the rooms be clearly labeled with your name to keep insertion easy
-We will provide music for the whole thing
-E-tanks and M-tanks are allowed.
-No teleporters please.
-Weapon customization is fine.
-No custom assets because that would be a big pain from the insertion end. (and a few other issues)
-Keep it at the same way as levels for now(only private chat and #level-showcase on the discord)
-You do not need to be a contest participant.

Another question ('cuz I'm full of 'em): should we designate a specific tileset to be used for the teleporter, so that it's consistently clear from one level to the next where your end goal is?

I'm assuming we're just using the tileset in the engine already, the same one used with the gimmick showcase levels.

If its one of the slight recolors it really shouldnt be a big deal

Also updated the main post again slightly, now when you submit put the author name and the name of your segment in the creation code

Music will be supplied, I think what we are going to do is have a few tracks so either everytime you start it, it will have a different song or it will switch every few levels...or both.

Also, if you end up making a snowboard section it can be a bit longer as long as it goes by quickly

Sorry, this is being changed to no weapon options due to it being a pain on the back end of it.

We're planning on having a set playlist of songs that are randomly played in-engine, so unfortunately no.

I want to see about enabling custom music on the user-end, so we'll see what we can do on that endeavour, however.
