Fan Game Mega Man Arena - 8bit Fighting Game! Released!
#1
Mega Man Arena is an 8bit multiplayer fighting game. Play as Mega Man or one of the 8 robot masters from Mega Man 2! Several updates are planned to include additional robot masters and stages.

Announcement Video: https://youtu.be/YWk6iQQoRjs
Launch Trailer: https://youtu.be/jIb_IhJadTg

Key features:
Built on WreckingProgram's Mega Engine!
9 Characters, each with a unique moveset: Mega Man, Quick Man, Metal Man, Bubble Man, Heat Man, Wood Man, Air Man, Crash Man, and Flash Man
Versus Play: Play 2-4 player versus battles in a fast-paced free-for all
Teams Play: Team up with a friend and destroy your enemies! Team attack can be disabled, though it's far more entertaining to leave it on Smile
Advanced techniques: Make yourself better than your friends by mastering ATs, such as wavedashing, slide invulnerability, and hitstun canceling
Stage Selection: 27 stages that offer a wide variety of play. Choose static stages to keep the interference to a minimum, or battle in a dynamic environment where hazards abound
Boss Mode: Tired of all the in-fighting? Team up to tackle some of Wily's best creations as a team!

Cool, But I really know why are we just given the Megaman 2 robot masters?, We could be given All of the classic robot masters(and the robot masters from Megaman 10 and 9). It feels like a one and tenth of the robot cast

EDIT 10/21/2017: The classic Robot master cast to me doesn't include Seven or Eight.

While I agree it would have been nice to see representation outside of Mega Man 2, god's overrated gift to humanity, asking for all of the robot masters is a bit ridiculous right out the gate. There's a lot of programming, and balancing that has to go in to making all of those characters function properly, and fairly in a competitive environment.

That said, overall this project looks promising. Keep up the good work.

Hey y'all! MultitapMugen ran a stream over the weekend as part of Extra Life. Check it out here if you want to see it in action! Plenty of laughs, plus a sneak peek at Boss Mode Big Grin

Found a possible bug/issue with Practice mode; if either you or the dummy fall into a bottomless pit (or get scrolled offscreen in the autoscrolling Air Man stage), they'll just die when this wasn't the case when depleting the health bar or touching spikes, and the match just ends. Why not have them be teleported to a safe position when this happens?

Also, stats shouldn't be logged from Practice mode sessions.

Any reason why Crash Man was given hair, but none of the other robot masters did not?

Looks great, but I'm curious what options there are in single player beyond the bosses. Is there any way to play against CPUs outside of practice mode?

Single mode options are coming. Focus of development was for couch play, for better or worse Smile

Beed, thanks for the feedback! Very good thoughts.

EDIT: No reason for Crash Man, it was just how my sprite artist made him.
