Alright. I need some opinions from you guys. I had had a brief discussion over this on Chatbox, but I want more than just a five-minute conversation for this sort of thing.

I've got plans for both Spark and Pharaoh Men to make appearances as bosses, or at the very least, sub-bosses, in the game. Problem being, I need to expand on their AI and attacks so that they're actually a challenge.

Spark Man won't be too hard, since I can just speed him up and have his sparks split upon wall contact like Spark Mandrill.

Pharaoh Man, on the other hand...I don't know what to do with him.

He already has his regular attack pattern of jump, two fireballs, sometimes energy wave, repeat. But he needs way more than that, especially since he doesn't move from the two sides of the room. I considered giving him a spiked-brick attack similar to the floating blocks of Castlevania's Mummy Man(Rondo and Portrait), and having some kind of way to summon little mummy Mets or something, but haven't settled on what that will be.

What do you guys suggest?

I don't know, Karasai. I planned on having Spark Man do something like that.

What about...

Slow shots that fall, and raise Mummybots if they touch the ground, but can be destroyed. This would give the player the choice of Mummybots or Pharaoh Man's other attacks to deal with.

Try some of his Power Fighter Moves. Or do something similar to the pharaoh guy from MMZ.

Sea of Fire
Pharaoh Man shoots at both walls, which causes a flame pillar, making Zero unable to wall jump off the walls.

After the flame pillars emerge, a mummy will fall from the ceiling, attacking Zero. When down on the ground, walking over it will cause it to grab Zero's leg, open to hits.

Eye of Horus
Pharaoh Man summons a shield which can be hit. However attacking it too much will cause him to counterattack.

Eye of Dementia
If the shield is attacked too much Pharaoh Man will fire a Pharaoh Wave immediately as a counterattack.

And the dead shall rise
An overdrive? Pharaoh Man summons a bunch of mummies as the stage shakes, after a while, Pharaoh Man will fire a large Pharaoh Wave to destroy everything, which cannot be avoided.

Just a couple ideas

Those rock some serious socks.

But the Overdrive attack seems unfair to be unblockable. If I do that, I'll probably make it so that the attack can be negated if Pharaoh Man is hit a couple of times. Which would still be rather difficult.

Triple post, but it ain't like I'm spamming. And edits don't bump the thread.

This'll be the Wily God final boss theme. I didn't plan it to be while I was working on this song, but it ended up turning out perfect for the atmosphere of the fight I have in mind. Which is also why I cut a few parts of the song out.

That's precisely why I'm making it dark. Something to break the cycle of "8 RMs and fortress stages" and still be able to stand on its own.

Haven't decided that yet. The second half or so of the game, Zero will have long since lost contact with X, having gone after Wily on his own. I might throw in a cutscene or two of X finding Zero's battle aftermaths, but contact with the two will be scarce. And no, they're not going to fight.

You should make Wily do something so horrible that enrages Zero so hard that he gets the intent to kill him without remorse.

Like Wily using X as a weapon, or a shield, in which Zero accidentally destroys him, etc.

another;

Zero gets a "controlled Awakened Zero state" during his final battle with Wily, it gets triggered when he almost dies, but thinks of his fallen friends, kinda like a second wind.

Already had that planned out. It won't be controllable. I've thought about making a "New Game+" option that lets the player use Awakened Zero (who would have double health, higher speed, power, more attacks, etc.), but that would require a LOT of work and I'm still a long way off from that.

But as for Zero using it on Wily in the final battle; cutscenes. Lovely, lovely cutscenes. He'll do that in a big final cutscene, not unlike the ending of Z1.
