Final Fantasy VIII OST (FFVI Instruments)
Final Fantasy VIII's illustrious soundtrack, being redone using Final Fantasy VI's instrument set. I'm slightly disappointed that the set is in .sf2 format, as I'd much prefer less-compressed .wav samples straight-ripped from SPC ones, but I can't complain as the soundfont is excellent in quality regardless. I suppose I'm doing this because I've recently begun another playthrough of FFVIII, and have fallen in love, yet again, with its music. And using FFVI's instruments is also due to my love it its respective soundtrack; also because FFV's instrument set is severely limited in its instrument choice. I briefly considered using the instruments I've ripped from FFVII, but there are two restricting factors that stopped me. One being that the rips are incomplete. Two being that some of the instruments in VII and VIII sound similar and are both of PSX era, and I decided to avoid it on the worry of songs sounding too much like their originals.

Anyhoo, I'll bump to keep this puppy alive, and update this post with each successive video upload.

EDIT 5/13: The project has been completed.

Disc one of four
Disc two of four
Disc three of four
Disc four of four

Haven't listened to all of it, but what I've heard so far sounds fucking awesome. I can't believe how good you are at remixes. And you sprite awesomely too. And you can make games. God REALLY wasn't fair when he was dishing out the stats.

Oh, it wasn't his fault. I have an Awesomeness Armlet equipped at all times, which gives me +60% on my Awesome stat.

To be honest, Final Fantasy 8 was the only game of the series I've ever played, but I never got to finish it due to the PS1 disc being too scratched up. (I made it to the Laguna part ehehehe)

Loving the remixes. Well, the ones I remember hahaha

Hilariously enough, the first FFVIII playthrough was on a friend's copy, which also had a badly scratched Disc 1, and froze at the cutscene after battling Edea, without fail, every time.

You should get into the others, though. I could recommend some titles, but I'd end up doing so with every game up to IX. lol

Triple bump. Not sure if I'm dancing on any post rules or not.

Can I borrow that anytime soon? Kinda lacking in that area. In all seriousness I love the sound of these remixes and funny enough I have been playing them while I sprite/draw/play dark souls, which has been kicking my ass.

It's not a one-of-a-kind item. You can get it by defeating the Liege of Lameness in the Mire of Misery.
